The Secretary General of the GECF, HE Mr. Leonid Bokhanovskiy hosted the 14th Meeting of the Executive Board (EB) in the Headquarters of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Doha, State of Qatar on October 17, 2012.
This 14th Meeting was conducted by the Chairman of the Executive Board, Mr. IIya Galkin, Member from Russia, and the Egyptian EB Member, Mr. Cesar Hinestrosa, was the Alternate Chairman. The 14th EB Meeting was attended by Delegations from all the 12 Member Countries of the organization: Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Oman and Venezuela, as well as the Observer Members of Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Norway.
The major issues discussed by the EB Members were the Program of Work for and Budget for year 2013, which represents the platform of the work of the GECF in general and the Secretariat in particular during the next year.
The 14th EB meeting set the framework for the discussions that would be held during the 14th Ministerial Meeting in Equatorial Guinea on November, 21 2012, as well as the incorporation of new Members Countries, the discussions of the gas market reports and approval of GECF Anniversary celebration activities coming up later this year.
Also, top on the agenda were the discussions of the GECF long Term Strategy, Steering Committee, the creation of financial instrument within the GECF and the establishment of the Gas Research Institute.
