The Gas Exporting Countries Forum held its 17th Executive Board Meeting at the GECF headquarters on October 9-10, 2013.
This meeting was conducted by the Chairman of the Executive Board HE Mohammed Nasser Al-Hajri, Member from the State of Qatar. The Meeting was attended by 13 Member Countries of the organization, namely: Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela, as well as Observer Members Iraq, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Norway.
The Executive Board Members conducted interviews for the new Secretary General of the GECF in accordance with the Statute of the GECF and discussed preparations for the 15th Ministerial Meeting in Tehran on November 3, 2013. A number of other key administrative and financial issues relating to the Forum were also discussed.
The new Secretary General of the GECF will be appointed by the GECF Assembly of Ministers at the 15th Ministerial Meeting in Tehran, Iran.
