The Secretary General of the GECF, HE S.M. Hossein Adeli hosted the 1st Meeting of the Technical and Economic Council (TEC) at the headquarters of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Doha, Qatar on July 30, 2015.
TEC is a new permanent specialized body of the GECF, which comprises of Member Countries (MC), national representatives appointed by the Ministers, and supported by technical staff and experts of the respective MCs.
The main objective of this Technical body is to provide a framework for active and effective interaction and discussion on technical and economic matters; share the views of the MCs technical and economic activities, and review the technical and economic research work undertaken by the Secretariat and required by the GECF Governing Bodies.
This 1st Meeting was conducted by the Secretary General and the Chairman of TEC. The Meeting was attended by national representatives of GECF Member countries. During the meeting, the national representatives discussed a number of important issues including the GECF Global Gas Model, GECF Scenarios, and Short-term Gas Market Developments as well as details of supply and trade outlook, and assumptions.
