The 2nd Workshop on GECF Data Reporting Mechanism was convened on October 4, 2012 in the headquarters of the GECF in Doha, Qatar with the purpose of facilitating cooperation and collaboration among GECF Member Countries through data reporting, collection and exchange.
The Workshop was attended by the delegates from the Member Countries representing the key players in the national data collection and reporting process.
In his welcome address, the Secretary General of the GECF HE Leonid Bokhanovskiy spoke about the importance of data reliability and accuracy, its global impact, and the need for collective effort amongst Member Countries towards the development of an effective and efficient Data Reporting Mechanism. He applauded the commitment of the group to promoting information exchange in accordance with the Statute and objectives of the Forum, and emphasized the need for visible and active participation by all in the Forum towards the realization of the objectives of the Workshop.
The data received from the GECF Member Countries will be vital for the GECF in-house research activity. The Workshop participants evaluated the Assessment of Monthly Questionnaires and Statute of the GECF Data Reporting Mechanism, the proposal on the implementation of the Data Exchange Centre, and the Road Map for the improvement of the GECF Data Reporting Mechanism, amongst other relevant topics.
