The 8th Executive Board Meeting of the GECF convened in Doha, Qatar, on May 4-5, 2011, under the chairmanship of HE Selwyn Lashley, EB Member representing Trinidad and Tobago, and co-chaired by Mr. Mohammed Al Hajri, Qatar EB Member.
In his welcoming speech, the Secretary General expressed deep gratitude to the Government of Qatar and to its Royal Family for the continuous support provided to the Forum’s Secretariat as well as the provision of state-of-the-art headquarters facilities in Tornado Tower, where for the first time, the EB Meeting took place.
The main objective of the Meeting was to discuss the organizational issues associated with the 1st GECF Gas Summit which is to convene in Doha at the level of the Heads of State and Government in November 2011. Furthermore, the Secretary General of the GECF Leonid Bokhanovskiy presented a report on the activities of the Forum including ongoing research and Gas Market Model developments.
