Mr Ahmed Mostafa, national of Egypt, assumed office in September 2023. He has an MSc. in International Relations, a Specialist Degree in Strategy and Policy Making, and a BA in Law. Before joining GECF, he was the Department Head of International Cooperation at the Minister's Technical Office of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Arab Republic of Egypt, where he contributed to fostering international partnerships within the energy sector.
Mission
The International Affairs and Public Relations Office (IA&PRO) oversees the Forum's international business affairs and manages the representation and communication of the Forum's Mission, Strategic Goals, Priority Objectives, decisions to governments, international organisations, and national institutions. Furthermore, the office actively communicates with the global media, enhancing outreach and knowledge dissemination to both professional and general audiences.
Role
The IA&PRO Head plans, organises, manages and evaluates the international affairs and public relations activities of the Secretariat, in coordination with the other departments and offices, The IA&PRO Head aims to create and represent a positive image of the GECF, and defines the ways and means of advocacy for natural gas. In addition, the IA&PRO Head is responsible for the management of the GECF website and social media platforms, in terms of design and content. The IA&PRO Head is responsible for the strategic incorporation of international affairs and public relations aspects into the implementation of the decisions of GECF’s governing bodies. In addition to its mission, the IA&PRO Head plans, organises, coordinates with other departments and offices, in particular with regard to membership, energy dialogue, and outreach promoting the interests and objectives of the forum on the global stage.
