The Gas Exporting Countries Forum, the global platform of the leading gas-producing nations, has launched the latest edition of its annual data flagship, the Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB).
The publication serves as a comprehensive data repository delivering verified, close-to-source natural gas data and macroeconomic performances of the GECF Members, helping create an accurate picture of the often fluctuating numbers.
“The GECF ASB has become a reference for natural gas market analysis and benefits a range of stakeholders, including GECF Members, the wider industry, as well as researchers and academicians. We are proud of the ever-improving quality of the publication, which is underpinned by new infographics and clearly-presented statistics,” said Dr Roberto Arenas Lara, Head of the Department of Information Services Department (DISD), which manages and oversees the ASB.
Furthermore, the fifth edition provides figures dating back to 2011, making it a must-read for analysts looking to gain a historical understanding of natural gas indicators. The publication also features short- and long-term perspectives.
The ASB is the manifestation of the GECF Data Exchange Mechanism, one of the foundational principles of the Forum, which was created, amongst other factors, to foster data transparency and information sharing amongst the Forum members.
The GECF is also part of JODI (Joint Organization Data Initiative), where it contributes to energy data transparency.
