The Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), HE Eng. Mohamed Hamel, today paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Qatar, where he was received by Ambassador HE Dmitry Dogadkin.
From the outset, HE Hamel lauded Russia’s stewardship role in the Forum, underpinned by the world’s largest energy exporter’s long-term commitment to the GECF. Additionally, HE Hamel commended the contribution of Russian nationals in their careful nurturing of the GECF Secretariat since its inception.
In turn, HE Dogadkin thanked the GECF official for updating him with the latest developments in the energy sector, particularly in the gas industry. The safety and sanctity of gas supply to various parts of the world also came under the purview of their discussion.
Furthermore, HE Hamel shared with the esteemed diplomat details of preparations for the 6th GECF Summit, being held later this month in Doha, Qatar.
