On the sidelines of the 27th Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), H.E. Eng. Mohamed Hamel, Secretary General of the GECF, met with H.E. Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. The meeting highlighted Algeria’s active role and continued engagement within the GECF framework, reaffirming the country’s steadfast commitment to advancing the Forum’s objectives and strengthening collective efforts to promote natural gas as a cornerstone of sustainable development. The discussions reaffirmed Algeria’s strong support for the GECF and underscored the commendable leadership and continued efforts of H.E. Eng. Mohamed Hamel, Secretary General of the Forum. The meeting covered a range of topics, including preparations for the 27th Ministerial Meeting of the GECF, global energy developments, evolving dynamics of gas demand, and the pivotal role of natural gas in ensuring energy security and enabling a just and orderly energy transition. Secretary General Hamel commended Algeria’s leadership and longstanding contribution to the Forum since its inception.
