The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) participated in the latest inter-secretariat meeting of Joint Organisations Data Initiative (JODI), an international platform to improve the availability and reliability of data on petroleum and natural gas.
The online meeting was attended by current JODI partners who shared their respective data submission status, discussed technical issues related to data quality management and metadata, and proposed new datasets for inclusion in the Initiative. The eight JODI partners are: Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat), International Energy Agency (IEA), International Energy Forum (IEF), Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), and the GECF.
The GECF delegation was led Ms Amira Remadna; Energy Data Analyst, Dr Mona Shokripur; Energy Statistician, and Mr Hesham Marzouk; Data Bank Analyst.
In addition to the planning of this year’s hybrid event, the JODI Members discussed the expansion of data sharing among private and public partners, specific country-level initiatives, data transparency, and collaboration between various stakeholders.
