Q: How do you see Egypt's regional role as a dominant player in the natural gas trade and circulation... after the inauguration of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum as well as the current major discoveries in the vicinity of the Mediterranean, and the future ones in the Red Sea?
- Egypt is increasingly becoming a growing link on energy trade between the Middle East, Africa, and Europe due to its unique infrastructure and location. The 2015 discovery of the Mediterranean’s largest natural gas field, the Zohr, was a turning point in unlocking the gas potential of the Egyptian Mediterranean basin. Credit goes to the vision of the Egyptian leadership and government.
