Role of Natural Gas in Meeting Sustainability and Climate Change

24 October 2019 |

Although climate change concerns play a key role in driving future energy configurations, there is a need to consider a more integrated framework to assess the sustainability of energy solutions.

Assessing the sustainability of various energy solutions and options is more that considering climate change and decarbonisation concerns. This assessment needs, indeed, to evaluate a combination of different energy-related criteria, including energy access, availability and reliability, affordability and competitiveness, greenhouse gas mitigation, pollution mitigation, and cooperation.

The objective of this Report is to contribute to the public debate on gas and sustainable development and show that the sustainability of energy solutions is more than climate change and decarbonisation.
