The 18th Meeting of the Executive Board (EB) was held in the Headquarters of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Qatar on March 11-13, 2014.
This meeting was conducted by the Chairman of the Executive Board HE Gabbidon Meheux, Member from Nigeria. This was the first meeting chaired by Nigeria. The Meeting was attended by the new Secretary General Dr. S.M. Hossein Adeli and Executive Board Members from Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela, as well as Observer Members Iraq, Netherlands and Norway.
During the meeting, the Secretary General presented a report on the development of Japan’s energy policy and its demand for LNG as the country is the largest importer of LNG with 36% of total LNG trade.
