Excellency Dr. Al-Sada, President of Ministerial Meeting,
Honorable Ministers,
Excellencies, Heads of Delegations,
Ladies and Gentlemen, It is a great pleasure to join voices with our Chairman to welcome you all to the 18th Ministerial Meeting. I also would like to extend my special greetings to those of you who are attending GECF Ministerial Meeting for the first time.
Mr. Chairman, Allow me to report to you and to all distinguished delegations that this is a special meeting in a special year. As much as the energy and gas markets experienced rapid changes shaping new dynamics and trends, we in the GECF Secretariat under the Presidency of Your Excellency doubled our efforts to get equipped with adequate analytical capacity, and necessary tools and instruments in order to help the member countries develop common understanding of market behavior as well as a ground to address them appropriately.
I am pleased to say that we have been successful in our mission to this end. This year has been a year of extraordinary accomplishments. We intensified market monitoring activities, and presented a special Daily Brief without any interruption; we completed GECF Global Gas Model and produced our first Gas outlook 2040. This is the first comprehensive gas focused outlook. We concluded the Terms of reference for GRI; we contributed to the completion of the Long Term Strategy of our organization. We launched monthly gas market report. And finally my colleagues produced around ten high quality analytical reports on various subjects related to global gas market.
Mr. Chairman, Honorable Heads of Delegations;
We have been able to do it only by hard work and high level of commitment to the GECF objectives and of course with close cooperation of member countries. I want to thank the Executive Board, and would like to commend the cooperation we received from the TEC members as well as the Special Envoys for Data and Statistics. Therefore this year of extraordinary performance is the result of collective strives to excellence by all. A milestone year that has opened a new chapter in the history of our Forum.

With this passion we have prepared all what is necessary for the success of today’s meeting and we hope that could contribute to the smooth and successful deliberation.
In conclusion allow me to thank all Ministers and member countries’ representatives who supported us in our endeavors and to especially offer my appreciation to you Mr. Chairman for the guidance and insights, as well as careful attention you accorded us during your tenure of presidency. It indeed was instrumental in creating this year as a year of performance and cooperation.
