The Technical and Economic Council of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) held its second meeting of the year on Sunday, 18 June at the GECF Secretariat.
The 19th TEC welcomed the participation of Members Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Nigeria, Russia, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago, UAE, and Venezuela. It was chaired by Secretary General of the GECF HE Eng. Mohamed Hamel.
The meeting covered short-term analysis and forecast of gas markets, the global gas outlook to 2050, investment trends, recent regulatory developments, energy technology advancements, companies’ strategies in the era of energy transitions, as well as climate change negotiations, the outcome of the recent meeting on the UN-sponsored international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, and the International Maritime Organization’s 2023 regulations.
