Moscow, Russia | 26 October 2026 - On the sidelines of the 8th GECF Summit, H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held a bilateral meeting with YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah bin Haji Mohd Nasir, Minister of Economy, Malaysia.
The meeting highlighted the longstanding participation of Malaysia in the GECF, as well as its importance as a producer, processor, exporter and even importer of natural gas. It covered the increasingly important role of natural gas in the future energy mix, particularly in meeting the rising energy demand of Asia. The parties reaffirmed their interest in deepening their collaboration on natural gas and energy matters.
