GECF Secretary General held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Oil and Gas, Libya, on the sidelines of the 8th GECF Summit

Moscow, Russia | 26 October 2026 - H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held a bilateral meeting with HE Dr Khalifa Rajab Abdulsadek, Minister of Oil and Gas, State of Libya, on the sidelines of the 8th GECF Summit. 

The meeting discussed the role of Libya as one of the most eminent energy producers in Africa that is geographically positioned between Africa, the Meditarranean and Europe and serves as an important longstanidng supplier of natural gas to the European market. It also addressed Libya’s domestic gas utilization efforts and its potential key role in the future integration of natural gas networks in Africa.
