GECF Secretary General held a bilateral meeting with the newly appointed Minister of People’s Power for Hydrocarbons, Venezuela

Moscow, Russia | 26 October 2026 - H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held an introductory bilateral meeting with HE Paula Kristina Henao Vera, the newly appointed Minister of People’s Power for Hydrocarbons of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on the sidelines of the 8th GECF Summit. 

The meeting congratulated the new Minister on her appointment and expressed confidence in her leadership, while underscoring Venezuela’s potential and vast natural gas reserves, in addition to the strategic importance of natural gas in the country’s economic development.
