A high powered delegation of Ambassadors of the European Union based in Qatar paid a courtesy call on Dr. Adeli, Secretary General of the GECF to acquaint themselves with the activities of the GECF and market developments. The delegation was headed by the current EU President HE Ioannis A.Metaxas, Ambassador of Greece to the State of Qatar. The meeting was attended by twelve Ambassadors from, Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy as well as Portugal and Spain. Also present at the meeting were senior diplomats from the United Kingdom, Romania and Greece. During the meeting, the EU party asked questions about the activities of the GECF, its membership and the role it plays in the market. The Secretary General on his part informed the Ambassadors of the mission and objectives of the GECF as well as its key activities and plans. The delegation thanked the Secretary General for shedding more light on the activities of the GECF and expressed the desire of the EU Ambassadors to have closer dialogue and bilateral relations with the GECF, stating that natural gas is a product of the future and a subject of interest to their delegation.
