Accra, Ghana | 2 September 2026. HE Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held a bilateral meeting with Hon. Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition of the Republic of Ghana, on the sidelines of Africa Oil Week in Accra.
The discussion highlighted Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its energy sector, expand access to reliable energy and advance the development and utilization of its natural gas resources in support of sustainable economic growth. HE Dr Philip Mshelbila commended Ghana’s progress and its increasingly important role in Africa’s energy landscape, while reaffirming the GECF’s readiness to deepen engagement and share the Forum’s expertise and experience in natural gas development, policy dialogue, energy security and international cooperation.
