On the sidelines of NOGC 2026, H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the GECF, held high-level engagements with Namibia’s leadership, including bilateral discussions with Hon. Modestus Amutse, Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, joined by Victoria Sibeya, Managing Director of the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) and Aune Amutenya, Acting Petroleum Commissioner in the Office of the President.
He also met with a Presidential advisory team comprising Mr Carlo McLeod, Presidential Special Advisor and Deputy Head of the Upstream Petroleum Unit, and Ms Maggy Shino, Petroleum Commissioner. The discussions explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Namibia and the GECF and reaffirmed their shared interest in transforming Namibia’s hydrocarbon potential into sustainable economic value while advancing regional and global energy security.
