The 2nd International Gas, Petrochemical and Biofuels Forum was held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, between August 20-23, 2019. The 2019 edition of the event was opened by the Minister of Hydrocarbons, HE Luis Alberto Sanchez Fernandez on August 20, at the Fexpocruz Convention Center.
The 2nd International Forum of Gas, Petrochemical and Green Fuels Bolivia 2019 is a gathering organized by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of Bolivia, YPFB and the Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons and Energy (CBHE), which joins the public and private sectors in Bolivia, in order to assess the current global situation of the mentioned fuels. The purpose of the event is to assist in the strategic planning of ways to address present and future challenges worldwide.
The GECF was represented by Ms. Mahdjouba Belaifa, Gas Market Analysis Department Head and Mr. Dmitry Sokolov, Energy Economics and Forecasting Department Head. The GECF has been an active participant and a contributor to the Forum since its creation in 2018.
Mr. Sokolov presented the GECF’s views on the long term energy forecast and global natural gas markets. He emphasized that the GECF fully supports the global commitments towards clean and environmentally friendly energy sources, with the aim of promoting economic development with a smaller carbon footprint.
