GECF Convenes 2nd High-Level Ad-Hoc Working Group Meeting on the Preparation of the 8th GECF Summit Doha, Qatar | 18 May 2026 — The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) convened the 2nd Meeting of the High-Level Ad-Hoc Working Group (HLAHWG) on the preparation of the 8th GECF Summit, bringing together delegations from GECF Member Countries in a hybrid format at the GECF Headquarters in Doha, Qatar. In his welcoming remarks, H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the GECF, highlighted the importance of preparation for the 8th GECF Summit scheduled to take place in the Russian Federation in October 2026, while also commemorating the GECF Silver Jubilee marking 25 years since the establishment of the Forum in 2001. Discussions focused on the ongoing preparations for the 8th GECF Summit, including the review of the draft Summit Declaration and related strategic documents. Delegations exchanged views and recommendations in a constructive spirit aimed at further advancing the preparation process and supporting a coordinated outcome for the Summit.
