Tashkent, Uzbekistan | 12 May 2026 — H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the Uzbekistan Energy Forum 2026. The Secretary General expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Government of Uzbekistan. Discussions reflected the importance of strengthening international energy cooperation, promoting stable and sustainable investments, and supporting balanced approaches to energy transitions and long-term energy security. The meeting also deliberated upon Uzbekistan’s ambitious energy transformation and the increasing role of natural gas in supporting sustainable economic development and industrial growth. In this regard, H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila extended an invitation to the Republic of Uzbekistan to further expand cooperation and dialogue with the GECF in support of the shared energy objectives.
