Doha, Qatar | 10 May 2026 — H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mohammed Al Lafi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Libya to the State of Qatar. At the outset, the Secretary General expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and courteous reception extended by the Embassy of the State of Libya in Doha. He further commended Libya’s historical role as one of the important natural gas and energy-producing countries in the region and reaffirmed the GECF’s readiness to continue strengthening dialogue and cooperation. For his part, the Ambassador thanked the Secretary General for the visit and expressed his appreciation for the important role played by the GECF in promoting dialogue, cooperation, and a deeper understanding of natural gas markets and energy security at the international level.
