The President of the GECF Ministerial Meeting, H.E. Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), paid a visit to the Headquarters of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), where he was warmly welcomed by H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila, the Secretary General.
In his remarks, H.E. Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo expressed his sincere appreciation to the State of Qatar for its continued efforts to support energy dialogue and multilateral cooperation, commending its role as host of the GECF Secretariat and as a key contributor to global energy. He also conveyed his gratitude to the GECF Secretariat for its dedicated work in advancing cooperation among Member Countries, strengthening the Forum’s visibility, and promoting natural gas as a pillar of energy security and sustainable development, affirming his fullest support for the Secretariat and its ongoing mandate.
H.E. Dr Philip Mshelbila warmly welcomed the visit and thanked the Minister for his leadership and continued support of the Forum. He highlighted the 2026 plan of work and the most important forthcoming events, including the 8th GECF Gas Summit, to be held in Moscow, Russian Federation. The Secretary General reaffirmed the Secretariat’s firm commitment to serving Member Countries, stressing that it will spare no effort in the service of the mission of H.E. the President. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Minister for gracing the GECF Headquarters during his visit to the State of Qatar and on the occasion of LNG2026.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, marked by a strong spirit of mutual respect and appreciation throughout the exchange.
