The US is expected to see a significant increase in gas demand in the medium term, driven by rising domestic consumption, particularly from gas-fired power generation serving AI data centers, and the expansion of LNG exports, with over 100 Mtpa of new liquefaction capacity scheduled for commissioning during 2026 to 2030. These developments rely on the rapidly growing US gas pipeline network, which is expected to add 200 bcma of new transmission capacity in 2026.
