Qatar is an emirate, which has a 35-seat Advisory Council that acts as a legislature.

The State holds the world’s third-largest natural gas reserves, after Russia and Iran, and is the second largest supplier of LNG in the world. The majority of Qatar’s natural gas is located in the massive offshore North Field, which spans an area roughly equivalent to Qatar itself.
