Trinidad and Tobago Minister of energy visits Qatar Counterpart
HE Senator Franklin Khan, Minister of Energy and energy industries of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago visited HE Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry of the State of Qatar.
The Minister was accompanied by HE Yury Sentyurin, GECF Secretary General of the GECF and other top dignitaries. During the meeting, both parties discussed issues of mutual interest.
Trinidad and Tobago is the founding Member of Gas Exporting Countries Forum and the leading Caribbean producer of oil and gas, and these resources play an important part in the economy. Oil and gas account for approximately 40% of GDP and 80% of exports. Recent growth has been fueled by investments in LNG, petrochemicals, and steel. Trinidad and Tobago achieved a century of commercial oil production in 2008.
HE Mr. Franklin Khan, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago was appointed as President of the Ministerial Meeting of the GECF from January 1st until December 31st, 2018 during 19th Ministerial Meeting of the GECF in Moscow, Russia on the 4th of October 2017.
