The GECF participated in the 4th Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club

The participation of GECF to the 4th Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club, Congress and Exhibition- IPEC 2018, 16-18 October 2018, organized by Iran, one of GECF Member Country, is one of the instruments identified in the above mentioned priority objectives.
This event covered the strengths of Iranian oil and gas industry as well as its challenges. It was an opened discussion among high level professionals of the energy sector and the policy makers addressing the various bottlenecks in the oil and gas industry in order to formulate tangible short-term and long term solutions
The GECF delegation represented by Ms Mahdjouba Belaifa, Head of Gas Market Analysis Department, delivered a presentation on the dynamics of gas market, the resulting headwinds and tailwinds for gas industry, reflecting the GECF perspective, based on the extensive inner research work of the Secretariat.
The speech covered also the role of Iran as a GECF Member country and on the global gas market. It was also mentioned that the significant gas reserves of Iran are likely to confer to the country an important role in supplying gas and LNG to the market in the future.
She concluded by reiterating the important role of GECF to the energy world, as a reliable and resilient supplier of gas recalling the needs for cooperation and dialogue with all market stakeholders, cooperation, being a core value of GECF.
