Launch of the GECF Annual Statistical Bulletin 2018

 Doha, Qatar

Containing a comprehensive primary source data set from all 12 GECF Member Countries (Algeria, Bolivia, Equatorial Guinea, Egypt, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela), the GECF Annual Statistical Bulletin (ASB) will assure a leap forward in terms of reader confidence regarding the data presented. The ASB does not only contain data from Member countries, but presents GECF Observer Members figures as well.

The second edition of the GECF ASB 2018 provides high quality and reliable data, making it a relevant source of trustworthy information for the benefit of all stakeholders in the Gas Industry. It aims to be a reference tool for analysts, researchers, academics, and to policy makers in particular, highlighting the importance of Data Transparency for the healthy evolution of Natural Gas Markets.

In terms of its content, the book provides the GECF’s world perspective within the context of Gas Proven Reserves, Natural Gas Production, Natural Gas Exports, and Domestic Gas Consumption, broad Macroeconomics and Energy figures, transportation capacity (pipelines and vessels); but also including value chain, installed capacity and insights in capacity building related to ongoing and future projects - not only from member countries, but the rest of the world.

The GECF ASB 2018 is the result of a sustained effort between the GECF Secretariat and the Special Envoys for Data and Statistics (SEDAS) from GECF Member Countries - truly a team endeavour.

Their dedication and attention to detail come to fruition in this publication. And the publication reflects the firm conviction that ‘gas defines the GECF and data lead the way’.
