Indonesia Energy Minister to deliver GECF Gas Lecture

The season-opener lecture of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Gas Lecture series is taking place virtually on Thursday, 6 October 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Doha time (GMT +3).
The lecture will be delivered by HE Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, on the topic of “Energy Transition in Indonesia’s G20 Presidency”. HE Eng. Mohamed Hamel, Secretary General of the GECF, will welcome the guests.
A veteran of the energy industry in public and private sectors, HE Tasrif has been at the helm of the important energy portfolio since 2019. Previously, he was assigned as Indonesia’s Ambassador to Japan in 2017 until October 2019. Prior to his assignment as Ambassador, he served as the CEO in three different state-owned companies, namely PT. Pupuk Indonesia, PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and also PT. Petrokimia Gresik. Excellency Arifin studied chemical engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, graduating in 1977.
The 2022 G20 President, Indonesia, is an important player in multilateral dialogues. Jakarta serves as the home of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), a partner organisation of the GECF. It also hosts the ASEAN Secretariat.
