GECF Workshop on Data and Statistics, Malabo 2018

The second GECF Workshop on Data and Statistics was convened on November 27-28, 2018 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, with the purpose of facilitating cooperation and collaboration among GECF Member Countries through data reporting, collection and exchange.
Twenty (20) delegates attended the Workshop from the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons, and Industries of Equatorial Guinea, key players in the national data collection and reporting process.
In his introductory remarks, the General Director of Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea, Mr Robustiano Ndong Eyegue spoke about the importance of data reliability and accuracy, emphasizing the need for active participation towards the realization of the objectives of the Workshop.
Mr. Mohamed Arafat, Databank Analyst, Dr. Mona Shokripour, Energy Statistician and Dr. Roberto Arenas Lara, Head of the Data and Information Services Department composed GECF Delegation.
The participants discussed about the Monthly and Annual Questionnaires, the processes of data gathering, processing, enhancement, and the expansion of data collection, amongst other relevant topics.
The workshops in GECF Member Countries is a practice that will continue throughout 2019.
