GECF holds Extraordinary Executive Board Meeting
In the run up to the 22nd GECF Ministerial Meeting, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) held its Extraordinary Executive Board Meeting via videoconference.
The Meeting was chaired by Eng Angel Eduardo Gonzalez Saltron, the newly appointed Executive Board Member of Venezuela and attended by the high-ranking officials of Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Iran, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, as well as Trinidad and Tobago. Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, and Norway participated as Observer Members.
During the e-meet, which spanned two days, the gathering reviewed the progress achieved in terms of preparations for the 22nd Ministerial Meeting and summed up the main outcomes for the consideration of the Ministers.
The status report of the GECF Global Gas Outlook 2050, Annual Short-Term Gas Market Report, and the GECF Annual Statistical Bulletin was also delivered by the Secretariat and reviewed by the Executive Board.
The GECF flagship deliverables will be submitted for the perusal of the 22nd GECF Ministerial Meeting, to be held on 12 November 2020 under the Presidency of the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria, via videoconference.
